"Hope for the Children" Art Photography:
Costa Rica is a beautiful Central American country known to many as a tourist destination. But there is also severe poverty. Many families literally struggle to survive. One of the most distressed areas of Costa Rica is Alajuelita, a community of 120,000 people near San Jose. It is an area so poor and in such need that is is said "Nothing good ever happens there."
Born out of a passion for the people who live in these villages, my pictures provide a glimpse into what life is like in Alajuelita. When a photograph sells, 100 percent of the profits go into a fund to provide hope for the people of Costa Rica. Specifically, funding a tutoring program to educate children and provide hope for a career, a rehab-program to get men and women off of the streets and off of drugs, a home-building program, and simply providing basic daily needs for children, such as a meal a day, medical care, and clean water.
I also enjoy photographing children in natural, candid settings. Most of the profits go to help the children of Alajuelita, Costa Rica.
